Our Mother Earth is the only planet in our solar system where life exists. It provides us all the resources: food, water, shelter, oxygen, etc. However, these are continually declining because of the harmful acts men and women do to our mother earth. We live in a world that knows a lot! But it is the world that is not concerned enough to get involved. Today, we experience air pollution, land pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, light pollution, thermal pollution, and visual pollution. “Save Mother Earth” themed posters and slogans are becoming more and more creative. But really, do we live by it? Are we resourceful to consume less? Are we also creative beyond those colored pencils and papers? Indeed, let us take action. In fact, one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that is being promoted is the Responsible Consumption. By 2030, substantial reduction of waste generation must be met. Recycling and reusing are simple yet effective ways to which we can help. Out of the boxes and scraps of wallpaper I found at home, I made use of them to create a container for me to pile my books that were before scattered in the house. I know that as a student of Contemporary Arts, I still have a lot to learn and a lot to contribute for our dear Mother Earth. So together, let us do our very best to become socially responsible citizens. By working together, our Mother Earth can remain habitable and can endure even long after we are gone from this world.
